19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a challenging year, managing just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the US Open.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in particular - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court after that period of the previous year.
Victory also signifies he has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
The player's retrieving play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted some to doubt if his skill to play at the highest level was over.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, striving to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an better serve.
He came back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to create a decider.
The opponent defended 4 early chances in a close final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner secured the win with a point at the net, with his opponent failing to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
